Inkwell Press works with scholars, writers, and educators to develop thoughtful, carefully edited, and beautifully produced books for contemporary readers.

We welcome proposals for original works, adaptations, translations, commentaries, and other projects that align with our publishing vision.

What We Publish

  • Islamic Scholarship

    Accessible works in theology, spirituality, Qurʾānic studies, Hadith, law, history, Arabic, and related disciplines.

  • Contemporary Works

    Original books that address meaningful questions facing Muslim readers today.

  • Classical & Adapted Works

    Translations, commentaries, adaptations, and carefully prepared editions of significant texts.

What We Look For

We are particularly interested in projects with a clear purpose, defined readership, strong intellectual or educational value, and the potential to benefit readers over the long term.

Submissions do not need to be fully designed or typeset. We assess the strength of the concept, content, author, audience, and fit with the Inkwell Press publishing programme.

    Our editorial team reviews the project for suitability and publishing potential.

    If there is a potential fit, we’ll contact you to discuss the manuscript, editorial direction, publishing model, and next steps.

  • 4 — Develop

    Accepted projects move into editorial development, design, production, and publication.

Please ensure your submission accurately represents the project you wish us to consider. Submission does not guarantee publication, and we may not be able to provide detailed feedback on projects we decide not to pursue.
